Tee off against cancer at Relay for Life golf tournament May 16
FROM STAFF REPORTS
BURNET — The third annual Relay for Life golf tournament hits the Delaware Springs greens and fairways May 16.
Each year, many people hear the dreaded words, “You have cancer.” It’s three words that change the person’s life and many of those around him or her. The American Cancer Society works hard to raise money for cancer research as well as for helping those battling the disease.
The annual Relay for Life golf tournament is a way golfers, and even non-golfers, can help fight the disease.
The event is $75 per player or $300 per team of four. The cost includes green fees, cart fees, range balls and a hamburger meal.
Check-in is noon to 12:30 p.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
Along with golfers, local businesses and individuals can help support the tournament through sponsorships. There are three levels of sponsorships: platinum at $1,000; gold at $500; and hole at $100.
Delaware Springs Municipal Golf Course is located at 600 Delaware Spring Drive in Burnet.
