Arthur “Bobo” Richard Potts, 80, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away peacefully March 31, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Jan. 5, 1935, in Salado, Texas, to Clifton and Mattie (Burkes) Potts.

He graduated from Belton High School in 1953. He went to a local business college. He chose to be a printing pressman by trade and worked in various printing companies in Austin and surrounding towns for over 40 years.

He was a proud member of the National Guard Reserves for eight years. He loved his country dearly!

His all-time favorite activity was watching and rooting for his Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys!  He NEVER went anywhere without having something on that was burnt orange. He loved the Longhorn vs. Aggie game and missed it when they stopped playing each year. He also never missed a Cowboys game either.

Arthur was preceded in death by his loving son Michael Ray Potts; parents, Clifton and Mattie Potts; and two sisters, Udania Jones and Martha Loper.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sheila Potts; daughter, Debra Page and husband Mark Goble; son Tommy Potts and wife Sandy; son James Potts Sr. and wife Tracey; stepdaughter, Jessica Hughey and husband Doug; and stepson Bobby Diehl and fiancée Rachel Flournoy. He was also a very proud Papa Bobo to his five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Christal, Ashley, James Jr. and Tommy Lee. He is also survived by three brothers, Clifford Potts and wife Gail, Marvin Potts and Mark Clapp.

A memorial celebration of Arthur’s life is 10 a.m. April 18 at Packsaddle Fellowship, 508 RR 2900 in Kingsland. A reception will follow at the church. Please dress casually — Arthur always said he was not “suit and tie” kind of guy. Please feel free to wear your Longhorn or Aggie shirt if you feel led to.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful staff at S&W Hospice of Horseshoe Bay for all their love, support and care to both Arthur and Sheila during their journey.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the charity of your choice.
