COTTONWOOD SHORES — The thing about winning a Locals Love Us award, according to Mike Rademaekers, is exactly that: the locals.
“That’s the thing I learned the most when I first got here, is how much the community really really loves this theater,” said Rademaekers, executive director of the Hill Country Community Theatre. “It’s very appropriate; it’s the ‘Locals Love Us’ because it’s so true.”
The Picayune readers and KBEY 103.9 FM Radio Picayune listeners voted the theater their favorites in two Horseshoe Bay/Llano/Kingsland-area categories: favorite organization and favorite theater production.
One weekend of shows remain of the theater’s production of “Zombies from the Beyond!”
“It’s not a clique; it’s totally open for new people to come join us,” Rademaekers said. “We encourage people to come and get involved. It’s a lot of fun here.”
To get involved, go to www.thehcct.org or call (830) 693-2474.
