Charles Gray of San Saba, Texas, passed away Nov. 30, 2014, at the age of 80. He was born Jan. 8, 1934, in San Saba to Lewis and Estelle (Gage) Gray.

Charles Lewis Gray and Billie Tonita Smithwick were united in marriage in a double wedding along with his brother, Ken Gray, and Shirley Barber on May 24, 1952, at the Cherokee School gym.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Estella (Gage) Gray, and daughter, Juna Dale Gray (1955-56).

He is survived by wife, Billie Tonite Smithwick Gray; sons Mike Gray and special friend Jewel Early and Randy Gray and wife Jannelle; grandchildren, Brandon Castro and special friend Tracy Sanderson, Amber and husband Mike McGinty, Crystol Gonzales and Phillip Gonzales; great-grandchildren, Marissa Gonzales, Mathew Gonzales, Lewis Gonzales and Jace Schade; and brother Ken Gray and wife Shirley.

Charles is also survived by nieces and nephews Sherry and husband Elliott Fikes and their children Sheila and husband Boyd Steadtler, Stephanie and husband Rob Hunter and Warren and wife Ty Homsley; Boyd and wife Caressa Gray and their children Jessa and husband Marcus Mayer, Jordan Gray and Breigh Gray; and Shane and wife Laurie Gray and their children Garrett and wife Holly Gray and Shane Gray Jr.

Charles Gray was a very beloved person by all his family and friends. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
