Paul ‘Paulie’ V. Mueller, 84, dies Nov. 17, 2014

Paul “Paulie” V. Mueller, 84, passed away Nov. 17, 2014. Paulie was born June 10, 1930, in San Antonio to Harry and Effie Mueller.
He was drafted out of college to play for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1949 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He officiated high school and college football games for more than 39 years.
Paul was a member of Lake Victor Baptist Church and loved and respected by all who knew him. He never met a stranger and loved his family and friends — last, but not least, his favorite four-legged friend Bella, who brought him great joy.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; son, Vince Mueller; brother Hilmer; and granddaughter Courtney Van Cleave.
Paul is survived by his wife, Rachel; brother, Harry Mueller (Virginia); stepchildren, Troy Van Cleave (Pam) and Cathy Rome (Bryan); grandchildren, Ben V. Cleave, Jennifer Moody (Wes), Avery and Blake Rome; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Garrett Moody; special niece, Lori Gilliam (Andy); and numerous other family members.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Paul’s memory to the Lake Victor Baptist Church building fund or Gentiva Hospice of Austin.
A memorial service is 2 p.m. Nov. 23 at Lake Victor Baptist Church.
