Patsy graduated valedictorian in 1956 from Seagoville High School, where she was an all-state and all-star basketball player. She earned a basketball scholarship to North Texas, where she graduated in 1959.

Patsy moved to Midland and went to work as a school teacher. Shortly thereafter, she met and married George Ochsner on May 28, 1960.

Patsy and George later joined Kelview Heights Baptist Church in Midland, where they were faithful members for more than 50 years. Patsy was a fixture in the nursery at Kelview and helped take care of and influence many more lives through that ministry.

In 1969, Patsy took a break from teaching and began raising her children. She was as accomplished in her abilities as a wife and a mother as she had been in everything else she had done. Her greatest joy came from helping others. She was a blessing to everyone who came in contact with her.

Patsy resumed teaching once her boys graduated high school. She also loved to sew, garden, cook and read. Even after retirement, she continued to teach as a substitute. Her main passion was helping others. This is the legacy she will leave for others to follow.
