Robert “Curtis” Myrick passed away Sept. 26, 2014. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Jan. 26, 1939, the son of Ace Curtis Myrick and Janie Omega Williams.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; brother Ace Edmond Myrick and his wife Marilyn Hanes Myrick; nephew Ryan Edmond Myrick; and brothers-in-law Heywood Smith, William Lytle and Fred Lytle.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of Burnet; son, Ace Curtis Myrick and wife Krista of Austin; sister, Janet Smith of San Antonio; grandchildren, Grace and Hannah Myrick, both of Austin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

Curtis grew up in and attended school in Sinton, Texas, graduating in 1957. He attended Tarleton State University and was an avid football fan.

Curtis went to work in the oil fields across Texas and spent time working in Okinawa. He spent the latter part of his life as a truck driver as he enjoyed traveling across the United States.

Curtis was a man who believed in core family values, was very giving and loved his family and friends very much. He enjoyed cooking, dancing and, most of all, the company of family and friends. He will be remembered for his intelligence, sense of humor, great stories and devotion to his family.

A memorial service is 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at The Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Marble Falls. Elder Wade Wimberly will officiate. A graveside service is 11 a.m. Oct. 11 at Evergreen Cemetery in Odem.
