Burnet girls cross-country team wins Fredericksburg meet
FREDERICKSBURG — The Burnet High School girls cross-country team won the Fredericksburg Invitational on Sept. 27, while the Bulldogs were fifth.
The girls division drew 10 teams, and the boys varsity had 11.
Burnet head coach Stuart Dixon said the meet drew many squads against which the Bulldogs wanted to compete on a challenging course.
“This was a tough, hilly course against many of the top teams in our region,” he said.

Burnet Middle School cross country
FREDERICKSBURG — The Burnet Middle School cross-country teams competed at the Fredericksburg Invitational on Sept. 27.
The seventh-grade boys finished fifth out of eight teams, while the seventh-grade girls were sixth out of seven squads.
“This hilly, two-mile course was a tough one with many rocky obstacles and even some hornet nests,” coach Natalie Shannon said. “Even with a few bee stings, the runners ran a very hard race.”
