MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School volleyball team lost to Cedar Park 10-25, 10-25, 13-25 on Sept. 30 in a District 25-5A contest.

“Although the Timberwolves played tough, the Lady Mustangs played inconsistently, making their path to success a very rocky one,” Marble Falls head coach Julie Downs said.

During the first two sets, Cedar Park’s serving was a challenge for Marble Falls (4-19 overall, 0-6 district) as defensive specialists struggled on serve-receive. Once the Lady Mustangs got used to pace of the servers, hitters struggled with ending points.

But in the third game, the Lady Mustangs put all the elements together and had a lead until the ninth point. That’s when the Lady Timberwolves (21-10, 5-1) climbed back into the set.

Downs said her players found themselves again unable to break the serve.

“The Lady Mustangs never quit fighting but did not play as well as the Timberwolves and lost the match in three games,” she said.
