Norma Rae Otto passed away Sept. 15, 2014, at the age of 86. She was lifted into the arms of God’s Angels and is now residing in her Heavenly Home.

Norma Rae was born Oct. 23, 1927, to Olen and Sinora (Beesley) Lawley in Llano, Texas, and was a lifetime resident of Llano. She married Vernon August Otto in Fredericksburg on June 7, 1947, at the age of 19. She became mother to son Vernon Michael on July 24, 1949, and daughter, Debra Sue on Aug. 7, 1952.

Norma was a self-employed beautician for many years in Llano. She then became a “caregiver” to those who were homebound before retiring.

Norma was of the full gospel faith and enjoyed going to church. One of her favorite pasttimes was playing games with friends and going to garage sales so she could have her own garage sale.

She loved nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norma was loved and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Olen and Sinora; husband, Vernon; two sisters, Donna and Nella Dean; and four brothers, Mike, Dale, Red and Joe.

Norma is survived by her children Vernon Michael Otto and Debra Sue (Suzi) Graham and husband Larry of Llano. Norma was “Mema” to her grandchildren and took great pride in Stephanie Fogle and husband Scott, Micah Otto and wife Brittany and Daniel Otto of Ohio, Sara Comerford and Jesse Redden of Fredericksburg, Dave Comerford and wife Candice of Austin, Jessica Graham of Michigan and Seth Graham of Llano. The “apples of Mema’s eyes” were great-grandchildren Chloe and Colin Fogle, Brayden Otto, Bryton and Makena Otto, Kai Redden and Cash Comerford.

A funeral service is 10 a.m. Sept. 20 at Waldrope-Hatfield Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300. Pastor Joe Rhymes and Brother Gerald Higdon will officiate with a graveside service following immediately after at Llano City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren David Comerford, Jesse Redden, Micah Otto, Daniel Otto and Seth Graham and nephew Greg Otto.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scott & White Hospice.
