MARBLE FALLS — The St. Paul/St. John’s Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is hosting its annual Friends of the Poor Walk on Sept. 20 at Johnson Park, 220 Ave. J South.

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. at the park’s pavilion.

Organizers say the purpose of the event is to raise awareness and money to support direct services to individuals who have emergency needs such as food, shelter, clothing, utility assistance, medical assistance, transportation and other individual needs identified through face-to-face interactions with Vincentians.

All funds raised during this event are used locally to help the poor in the Marble Falls, Horseshoe Bay, Granite Shoals and Cottonwood Shores areas.

Please bring your family, friends and wallet to this worthy cause for fun, fellowship, fresh air and a light stroll in the park.

Registration is a free-will offering.
