On Sept. 16, 2014, David Michael Hugunin lost his battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord.

He left behind his wife, Kim, and four children, Joseph, Katie, Andrew and Julia. He also had nine brothers and sisters, all residing in Missouri, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was a water operator in Lake Travis, Texas, at the time of his passing. David loved and served his country proudly in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a devoted Catholic and parishioner at St. Paul the Apostle. He loved NASCAR racing, camping, cooking, country music and dancing and had many daddy date nights with his youngest two children, Andrew and Julia. He was very proud of his oldest son, Joseph, in becoming an Eagle Scout, earning his NHSS membership and for his swimming abilities. He was also very proud of his oldest daughter, Katie, going on to become an athletic trainer.

He loved his family and helping them in any way. He could build anything under the sun. Lastly, his wife, whom he adored, was the glue that held his family together.

A funeral Mass for David is 11 a.m. Sept. 19 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bay with Father Reuben Patino officiating.

Arrangements by Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373.
