LIBERTY HILL — The Burnet Middle School cross-country team ran its first official meet of 2014 while competing in the Liberty Hill Junior High meet Sept. 6.

The Lady Pups placed third overall out of seven teams, while the Bullpups were fourth out of eight squads. All teams ran two miles.

“Their progress has improved tremendously, and we are very excited to see where this season takes us,” coach Natalie Shannon said.

Eighth-grader Trynadee Greenwell ran strongest for the girls team with a very impressive time of 13 minutes and 52 seconds, good enough for fourth overall. Teammate Kinley Beyer was 12th in 14:43.

On the boys’ side, seventh-grader Logan Cummings placed 14th overall with a time of 12:46.
