Arleta Marie Bryson, 90, of Liberty Hill and a lifelong resident of Burnet and Williamson counties, passed away Aug. 7, 2014. She was born Aug. 31, 1923, in Spicewood to Rodney Lee and Iza (Greele) DeSpain.

Arleta worked for 39 years as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone in Austin and retired from there in 1983. It was there she met and later married Logan Bryson. They married in 1961, and he passed away in 1998.

She and Logan were both very involved in the activities of the Liberty Hill community. She enjoyed shopping and going out to eat with family and friends and helping prepae meals for community funerals and other occasions. She was an active member of the Liberty Hill Church of Christ.

Arleta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Logan; and sister Bernetta Schnelle.

She is survived by sister Golda Lee Fitzsimmons of Jacksonville, Tenn., and nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She is also survived by special family friends Wayne and Judy Shipp and Kenneth and Beverly Cousins and their families.

A visitation for family and friends was Aug. 10 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222. A funeral service was Aug. at the funeral home with Jason Dunn officiating.  Burial followed at Liberty Hill Cemetery.
