OBITUARY: Ella Josephine Woodruff, 90, of Kingsland dies Aug. 4, 2014
Ella Josephine Woodruff passed away Aug. 4, 2014, at the age of 90 in Blanco, Texas. She was born July 25, 1924, to Homer and Bertha (Doyle) O’Neal in Kenova, W. Va.
She had been a resident of Tow and Kingsland since 2009, coming from El Paso, Texas.
Ella married Hiram Woodruff on June 10, 1947, in New Braunfels, N.J. She served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946.
Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Woodruff; parents, Homer and Bertha O’Neal; and grandson Stephen Holmes in 2008.
Survivors include son, Randall Woodruff and wife Patricia of Wimberley; grandson Robert Holmes of Blanco; and two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kendra Holmes, both of Blanco.
A graveside service is 10:30 a.m. Aug. 11 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio with Dr. Rodney Williams officiating.
