Kenneth Ray Riley, 42, passed away in an Austin hospital July 31, 2014. He was born in Burnet on Sept. 21, 1971, to Bobby Ray and Carla Tatum Riley.

He was an eighth-generation Texan, whose ancestors settled Riley Mountain and Dancer Peak in Llano County.

Ken spent his childhood in Burnet and Llano and then moved to Austin. He was salutatorian of the Llano High School Class of 1990 and attended the University of Texas-Arlington. Ken was a gifted artist and a self-taught guitarist and vocalist who played across the country.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Max and Marie Tatum and Homan and Alva Lee Riley; stepsister Heather Morgan; and stepmother, Cheryl Pafford Riley.

Ken is survived by his father, Bobby Riley; mother, Carla Hashaw; brothers, Kevin Riley, John Gammill and Kyle Riley; sister, Abby Riley Brayfield; and stepsisters Jessica Vardell and Jennifer Morgan Pace and husband Scott. Many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends also mourn his passing.

A graveside service was Aug. 5 at Bethel Cemetery in Burnet County with James Hoover officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Chris Harris, Kevin Ulrich, John Gamill, Frank Creasey Jr., Hunter Creasey, Lee Davis, Dub Miller and Tom Fritz.
