OBITUARY: Ida Jeweline Beam Brooks Denniston, 89, of Marble Falls dies July 9, 2014

Ida Jeweline “Jewel” Beam Brooks Denniston of Marble Falls, Texas, went to be with her maker July 9, 2014, at the age of 89. Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1924 to Clyde L. and Emma Mae Tatom Beam, Jewel was the oldest of seven siblings.

Jewel married Henry Brooks in 1939 at the age of 15. They went on to have four sons before Henry’s death in 1980. After Henry’s death, Jewel remarried in 1983 and spent 28 happy years with Jim Denniston, who passed in 2011.

Jewel’s pride and joy has always been serving the Lord and her family, and she has spent many years as a devoted Christian, mother, wife, grandmother and friend to all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde L. and Emma Mae Tatom Beam; husbands, Henry Brooks and Jim Denniston; and brothers Elmer Beam and Lester Smith.

Jewel is survived by her four sons, Wilburn Brooks and wife Cora of Kingsland, Jimmy Brooks and wife Pam of Menard, Larry Brooks and wife Susie of Weatherford and Royce Brooks of Marble Falls. She also leaves behind an outstanding legacy that includes 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service is 10 a.m. July 11 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373, with burial to follow at Marble Falls City Cemetery.
