Dawn Warren Taylor died at her home on Lake LBJ on June 16, 2014, at the age of 86. She was born May 12, 1928, in Bluff Dale, Texas, to Leslie and Marie Humphreys Warren.

She married George Lee Taylor in Lometa on Dec. 27, 1945. They were together for 41 years until his death Dec. 3, 1986.

Dawn was an educational director of several private schools for children in San Antonio for more than 35 years.

She is survived by son, Warren Taylor (Ruby), and grandson Nick (Teresa), all of New Bern, N.C.;  Patty Taylor, the wife of her deceased son Don Taylor, of Helotes; grandson Jeff Taylor (Paige) of San Antonio; and granddaughter, Leslie Austin (Conner) of Fair Oaks Ranch. Dawn was known as loving great-grandmother “G.G.” to Dalton James and Leslie Dawn Taylor, Carson Patrick, Lyndon Dean Austin, Helen Rose Taylor and one on the way. She also is survived by her sister, Helen Warren Rosener of Lake LBJ; sisters-in-law, Katherine Townsend and Clara Strait; numerous nieces and nephews; and special niece and caregiver, Barbara Kay Raley.

A graveside service and interment is 10 a.m. June 21 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet with family friend Eddie Snider officiating.
