OBITUARY: Ramiro Montemayor Jr., 56, of Burnet dies May 23, 2014
Ramiro “Ray” Montemayor Jr., 56, passed away at his home in Burnet on May 23, 2014. He was born Sept. 4, 1957, in Corpus Christi to Ramiro Sr. and Maria Gonzales Montemayor.
Ray served in the Navy from 1977 to 1982. He loved to barbecue, was a fisherman and enjoyed NASCAR, football and reading novels.
Ray is survived by his wife, Rosa Montemayor, and three children, Sergio Hernandez, Jennifer Marie Montemayor and Ramiro Antonio Montemayor. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Octavio, Anissa, Martha, Noelia, Abel, Elias, and Sergio; brother, Johnny Montemayor of Kerrville; and sisters, Gracie Bravo and Lily Gonzales, both of Austin, and Starr Garcia of Brenham.
Visitation is 6 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. May 28 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. May 29 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Burnet. Interment will follow at Post Mountain Cemetery.
