OBITUARY: John Dee Allbritton, 78, of Burnet dies May 19, 2014

John Dee Allbritton, 78, of Burnet, Texas, died peacefully at home May 19, 2014. He was born in Uvalde, Texas, on July 20, 1935, to John and Irene Allbritton.
After high school. he attended the University of Houston and later served as an MP in the Army for two years. For the duration of his career, he worked as an architectural engineer at Shepler’s Construction Co. in Houston.
He retired in 1985 and was the happiest while working in his shop or fishing with his son David.
John Dee was a very special individual who loved being with family and friends. He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and David Allbritton and son Robert “Bobby” Allbritton.
John Dee is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carroll Allbritton; sister, Virginia Oakley of Forney; son, David Allbritton and wife Crystal of Salado; niece, Renee Waldrip of Forney; stepchildren, Dana Simpson and husband John of Killeen, Guerin Heckman of Austin and Debbie McCallister of Kerrville; grandchildren, Cole Allbritton, B.W. Allbritton, Phillip Allbritton and Mandy Richmond; and great-grandchildren, David Allbritton, Alabama Richmond and Gabrella Allbritton.
A memorial service is 3 p.m. May 25 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222, officiated by the Rev. Doug Lindley.
