OBITUARY: Floyd Littleton Gunn, 94, formerly of Burnet County, dies May 10, 2014

Floyd Littleton “Doc” Gunn passed away May 10, 2014, in College Station at the age of 94. He was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Gregory, Texas, but spent most of his childhood in Burnet County. He was the son of Frank and Cenie Gunn of Marble Falls.

Floyd graduated from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1943. For more than 20 years, he was in private practice in La Grange, where he was active in the community. In 1966, he joined the faculty of the TAMU Veterinary College, from which he retired in 1982.

Floyd is survived by children Sue Ann Gunn of College Station, Larry Gunn of La Grange and Travis Gunn of Buchanan Dam; sisters Zola Knowles and Mary House and husband the Rev. Morris House, all of Bryan; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by son Lonnie Gunn.

A service is 2 p.m. May 21 at First United Methodist Church in Bryan.

In lieu of other remembrances, memorial donations to honor Dr. Gunn may be made to Office of the Dean, College of Veterinary Medicine, TAMU Mail Stop 4461, College Station, TX 77843 “for” Dr. Floyd Gunn Scholarship Fund.
