OBITUARY: Fay Dingley, 88, of Burnet dies May 9, 2014
Fay Dingley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was born to Ike and Lucille Burchfield in Bonham, Texas, on Oct. 19, 1925. She passed away at The Oaks Nursing Center in Burnet on May 9, 2014.
Fay was preceded in death by her youngest son, Mike.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles W. “Chuck” Dingley; son Dale Dingley and wife Jackie of Austin; daughter, Lynne Gartman and husband Bob of Uvalde; and daughter-in-law Peggy of Austin. Also surviving her are grandchildren, Dale Dingley Jr., Stacey Heller, Marcie Bolduc, Billy Gartman and Beth Speaker; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service in honor of Fay is 10 a.m. May 13 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222, with burial to follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Fay was a devoted mother and wife, who saw only the best in those around her. She was a constant source of strength for her husband and children. Fay loved getting involved in arts and crafts, and all of our homes are witness to her many and varied talents in crafting everything from macramé to artificial flowers to Christmas lawn decorations.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her name be made to one of the several foundations researching Alzheimer’s Disease.
