Young Marble Falls golfer wins Future Champions Golf Texas Championship

HORSESHOE BAY — Macy Fox of Marble Falls won the girls 11-12 age division of the Future Champions Golf Texas Championship on April 26-27 at Horseshoe Bay Resort Apple Rock Golf Course.

Fox posted consecutive rounds of 76. On the back nine in the final round, she carded two birdies and an eagle that were offset by bogies. The eagle came on the par-4 No. 14 when she holed a 50-yard shot from the fairway.

Her cousin, Marble Falls High School golfer Thomas Winters, posted rounds of 81-76 – 157 to finish sixth in the boys 15-18 division.

The Horseshoe Bay event saw competitors from Texas, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico. Boys and girls competed in five divisions ranging from ages 8 and under to the 15-18 age division.
