Arthur Joseph Huddleston was born Sept. 23, 1928, in Colorado Springs, Colo., and passed away April 27, 2014, in Llano Texas. He was the oldest of three brothers born to Arthur and Virginia Booth Huddleston.

He was preceded in death by his parents and youngest brother, Merle, with his other brother, Donald, still living in Colorado Springs.

Arthur attended Abilene Christian College from 1947 to 1951, graduating with a bachelor’s degree. While attending ACC, he met Patsy Jo Stark, with whom he fell in love and married June 1, 1952. She gave birth to their only child, Arthur Warner, on June 5, 1953.

He was a member of the U.S. Naval reserve from 1951 to 1953 and began his career with Western Electric, part of what is now AT&T, transitioning into working for AT&T when Western Electric ceased to operate. After 35 years with the same company, he retired in Denver.

During his employment, he and Patsy traveled to and lived in many different locations, from Colorado to New Jersey to Iran to Ohio, with several side stops and trips thrown in. They finally retired to Llano, where Patsy had two brothers living.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Jo; son, Arthur Warner and wife Cathy; grandchildren, Ryan, Jennifer and Adam; and brother Donald.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated with a portion of his ashes being placed at Bluffton Cemetery just outside of Llano and the balance spread in the canyons above Colorado Springs.

The family will host a wake 1-5 p.m. May 10 at their home, 205 W. Green in Llano.

Arrangements by Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300. Email whhfuneral1@verizon.net with condolences.
