Marble Falls softball ends season in close loss to Dripping Springs
DRIPPING SPRINGS — Though the Marble Falls High School softball team knew it didn’t qualify for the playoffs — while Dripping Springs did — the Lady Mustangs weren’t going to lose to the Lady Tigers without a fight in a District 25-4A match April 18.
In the end, Dripping Springs (9-3 district) scored enough for a 5-4 victory.
Both squads plated two runs in the first inning. But the Lady Mustangs (16-13 overall, 5-7 district) added their final two in the second inning.
The Lady Tigers capitalized on errors to regain the lead in the third inning, scoring three runs.
In all, Dripping Springs recorded nine hits and left 11 batters. Marble Falls committed four errors.
