FROM STAFF REPORTS

SAN ANTONIO — The Marble Falls High School doubles team of Hanna Dockery and Madison Dyer finished 1-1 at the Class 4A Region IV tournament April 15.

The two posted an overall record of 17-4 for the season.

The duo won its first-round match against Corpus Christi Flour Bluff, the District 31-4A champions, 6-2, 6-0.

“The girls played a solid power tennis game,” Marble Falls head coach Jeff Savage said.

In the quarterfinals, they lost to Edcouch Elsa, 4-6, 7-6(4), 4-6.

“From the very first point, I knew this was going to be a great match,” Savage said. “The team from Elsa played very consistent and was able to get back many hard shots from Madison and Hanna.”

The Lady Mustangs could have folded in the second set when they trailed 4-5. Instead, Dockery held serve, which forced a tiebreaker that led to Marble Falls capturing the set.

Savage said the third set went back and forth, but Elsa did just enough to win.

“I’m very proud of the girls and the success they have had all season,” he said.
