OBITUARY: LoEva Luttrell, 81, of Meadowlakes dies March 30, 2014
LoEva “Eve” Luttrell, 81, of Meadowlakes, Texas, passed from this life March 30, 2014. She was born to Joe and Texana (Whitman) Silcox on Sept. 22, 1932, in New Caney, Texas.
Eve was a member of United Methodist Church of Carbondale, Colo., and the Friday Night Friends of Kingsland and a volunteer with the Red Cross. She was a crossword puzzle extraordinaire, an avid reader and a home designer and loved gardening and flowers. She also was a loyal watcher of “The Days of Our Lives” soap opera from the very beginning of the series.
She married Lt. Col. James H. Luttrell on April 20, 1956. He preceded her in death.
Jim was the love of Eve’s life. They shared the next 20 years moving from state to state, living the life of a career Air Force family. Eve’s primary job was raising her children. Wherever they moved, Eve would create a beautiful and loving home. When Jim retired, the family moved to Carbondale, where they made a life for 25 years. Eve longed to return to her roots in Texas, and, in 1999, she fulfilled her dream to return home, moving with Jim to Kingsland.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Luttrell of Marble Falls, Paul Luttrell of Carbondale and Mark Luttrell and wife Maureen of Carbondale; daughter Sue Williams and husband Homer of Granite Shoals; grandchildren, Dan (Brandi) Luttrell, Adam Infascelli and Aaron Luttrell; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie “Mac” Luttrell; and sister Geraldine Chance and husband Marven. She was loved by numerous nephews and nieces.
A celebration of Eve’s life is 2 p.m. April 6 at the Lighthouse Country Club,118 Club Circle in Kingsland.
