Elder Care Fair in Marble Falls offers health screenings, wellness programs April 5
FROM STAFF REPORTS
MARBLE FALLS — The 2014 Elder Care Fair gives people of all ages a chance to check out products and services for the elderly.
The event is 9 a.m.-noon April 5 at the Boys & Girls Club of the Highland Lakes-Marble Falls Unit, 1701 Broadway. Admission is free, and there will be numerous free health screenings.
The Highland Lakes Health Partnership sponsors the event.
The fair provides a basic one-stop shop for people interested in learning about the numerous services and products available for area elderly. Many of the exhibitors include home health-care providers, assisted-living facilities, hospitals and medical care, physicians and specialty clinics, dietary services and numerous other booths.
There will be people on hand giving out bucket gardens, which will allow folks to grow some of their own food. And attendees can learn about the various walking trails in the area.
It’s all about health and wellness.
While titled the Elder Care Fair, it’s open to anyone, whether they consider themselves “elderly,” care for someone who is or know someone who is of that age.
