OBITUARY: Robert T. Sylvester, 88, of Granite Shoals dies March 13, 2014

Robert T. “Bob” Sylvester, 88, of Granite Shoals passed away March 13, 2014.
On June 16, 1947, Bob married his loving wife, Betty, in San Antonio.
Bob was born to Ted and Oral Sylvester. He grew up in Gaylord, Minn., with two other brothers and one sister.
On June 14, 1952, Bob graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in mechanical engineering.
During World War II, Bob served as a navigator in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Bob worked at Sandia National Laboratories as a mechanical engineer in Albuquerque, N.M., for 30 years.
He and Betty moved to Granite Shoals in 1982. Bob served as a volunteer engineer and an airport manager for the city of Granite Shoals.
Bob is survived by his wife Betty; daughter, Nancy; son, Barry and wife Liza; and grandchildren, Cameron and Kaycee, all of Granite Shoals.
A memorial service is 2 p.m. March 15 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373.
