MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls Parks and Recreation Department released the schedule of events for Spring Break 2014.
This year’s “Burst into Spring” is March 10-14 at various sites across the city.
First up is a disc golf clinic conducted by instructor Christopher Wolford from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 10 at Westside Park, 1610 Second St.
On March 11, attendees are invited to learn more how to create abstract art like artist Jackson Pollack from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the pavilion near the sand volleyball court at Johnson Park, 230 S. Ave. J.
“The Smurfs” movie will be shown 1-3 p.m. March 12 at Lakeside Pavilion, 307 Buena Vista. Subway sandwiches will be served at 1 p.m. before the movie starts. In addition, a free movie poster will be given to one attendee.
Build a birdhouse at the Marble Falls Public Library, 101 Main St., at 10 a.m. March 13. It’s limited to the first 40 crafters ages 6-11. Basketball players are invited to play in the 3-on-3 tournament, which takes center court 1-3 p.m. at Westside Park. Sweet Maggie Lou Snow Cones will be given out.
The week ends March 14 with the Verus Strength and Fitness obstacle course at Johnson Park from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. complete with an ice cream social.
