Spicewood man is killed in a two-car accident on Texas 71

SPICEWOOD — The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a two-vehicle collision that resulted in the death of a 71-year-old man and injuries to a 15-year-old passenger.
The accident happened just before 4 p.m. Jan. 26 about four miles southwest of Spicewood on Texas 71, according to the report.
Spicewood resident Earl Lewis, 71, driving a 2001 Chevrolet S-10 pickup, was westbound in the inside lane when he slowed to make a left-hand turn onto Fall Creek Road.
A 2012 Ford F-250, driven by 27-year-old Kylee Livingston of Midland, collided with the back of the Chevy pickup.
Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene about 4:15 p.m. by Dr. Paul Henchey.
Jacob Abels, 15, of Spicewood, a passenger in the Chevy pickup, was taken to Brackenridge. His condition is pending.
