BURNET — Members of the Burnet High School baseball and softball teams will hold clinics for elementary-aged children Jan. 25 at Bulldog Diamonds on the high school campus, 1000 The Green Mile.

A softball clinic for girls in the fifth grade and younger will begin at 10 a.m. Cost is $20 per player and is limited to 75 athletes. It will be taught by 15 high school players and directed by the high school softball coaching staff.

The baseball clinic is for boys in the second through sixth grades. Cost is $25 per player. Players will be taught hitting, fielding and base-running fundamentals and play wiffle ball. The varsity and junior varsity players will participate in a hit-a-thon.

The final activity of the day is the Slugfest contest between high school baseball and softball players. Children who attended the clinics will receive a ticket to Slugfest, which starts at 6 p.m.
