SUV crashes feet from Marble Falls residence; driver airlifted

FROM STAFF REPORTS

MARBLE FALLS — A 47-year-old Marble Falls man suffered serious injuries after he left the roadway, collided with a parked car and crashed his sport-utility vehicle a few feet from house at the intersection of RR 1431 and Avenue D, according to a Marble Falls police report.

A Marble Falls resident, who was awakened by the noise of the accident that ended in her yard, called in the collision about 2:15 a.m. Jan. 19.

Investigators concluded the driver, traveling west in a 2004 Lincoln Navigator, left the roadway and struck an unoccupied Ford Focus parked at a residence.

“Somewhere between Avenue D and Via Viejo, he left the roadway, traveled across the Trinity Episcopal Church driveway, across Avenue D, T-boned a parked vehicle and pushed both vehicles between two residences … (and) ended up in the back of someone’s residence,” Marble Falls Police Sgt. Barry Greer said.

The driver was taken by helicopter to University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin with serious injuries, the report stated.

The man’s condition is pending. No other injuries were reported. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
