LLANO — If you’re looking for a bargain or just want to do a little “pickin’,” the annual Llano City Pickers/Citywide Garage Sale on Jan. 18 is where you want to be.

“With all the booths at the American Legion and other garage sales around town, it makes it more fun for people out buying because they have so many places and choices in this one area on one day,” said Binky Morgan of the Llano Main Street program. Llano Main Street and the Friends of the Red Top Jail are sponsoring the event.

“And it helps the sellers, because an event like this just brings in a lot more people.”

The epicenter of the event is the American Legion Hall, 200 Legion Drive. People can pay $1 to get into the hall, where they’ll find booths offering treasures and other items. You could describe it as a picker’s paradise with so much from which to choose.

And, outside the hall, folks will find even more booths and options.

Morgan said to rent booth space, people may call the Llano Chamber of Commerce at (325) 247-5354.

The wonders don’t stop at the American Legion Hall. As part of the event, Morgan said many individuals, businesses and organizations across Llano will hold garage sales at various locations as well.

“All you have to do to find them is come by the American Legion and pick up a map,” she said.

Morgan said the event continues to draw people from Llano and the surrounding communities.

It’s all about volume.

“If people think that there’s one garage sale in Llano, they might not come. But with all these going on this one day, it’s definitely worth coming out,” Morgan said.

Plus, it’s a great way for people not familiar with Llano to explore the town and see what else is going on.
