OBITUARY: Ruby ‘Dusty’ Houston MacFarlane, 81, of Kingsland dies Jan. 12, 2014

Ruby “Dusty” Houston MacFarlane, 81, of Kingsland, Texas, died Jan. 12, 2014. She was born to Everett and Dove (Parker) Jarnagin on April 25, 1932, in Bellville, Ark.

Dusty was a cosmetology instructor for Isabell Powell’s and a retired Southwestern Bell Telephone employee. She was a lifetime member of the VFW auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed golf, bingo, quilting and dancing.

Dusty was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by children, Diane (Jim) McCorquodale of Kingsland, Donna (Ronnie) Johnson of Tow and Neana (Monty) Montgomery of St. Louis, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers M.D. Jarnagin, Hugh Everett Jarnagin and Tommy Lee Jarnagin, all of Missouri; and sister, Mozell Means of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Wilson Houston and John MacFarlane; sons, Audie and Randy Houston; and brother Edward Johnson.

Visitations are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Jan. 14 and 15 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008. Another visitation is 5-8 p.m. Jan. 16 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 5740 W. 19th St. in Lubbock. A funeral service is 10 a.m. Jan. 17 at Rest Haven Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
