MARBLE FALLS — For his 21st birthday, Tanner Worthing got what he asked for.

Worthing often stops by Marble Falls Fire and Rescue to visit staff members and spread a little joy.

So on his birthday Dec. 16, staff members invited Worthing to the department, where they presented him with a cake, an official staff member’s pullover shirt and a ride on the big engine.

“He comes in and cleans,” said Sam Stacks, city of Marble Falls Fire and Rescue captain. “He’s always going out of his way.”

Worthing was surprised when he opened the present and saw the pullover. But he wasn’t surprised when his friends escorted him to the fire engine, noting it’s what he asked for.

He eagerly sat in the front seat, put on his seat belt and grabbed the head set. He kept a giant grin on his face the entire time.

Stacks said staff members were happy to do something for Worthing that gave him so much joy. After all, he said, Worthing brings a lot of happiness when he visits.
