LLANO — When people cross the Llano River bridge on Texas 16 heading north, they might want to brace themselves for what awaits on the shores of the river starting Nov. 30.

The annual Starry, Starry Nights takes over Badu Park through Dec. 31. The display features more than a 150 lighted sculptures.

It all starts Nov. 30 about 6 p.m. when the Llano Fire Department brings Santa Claus to the park to kick off the Christmas season. Santa will ride across the Llano River bridge on one of the fire trucks. The firefighters will escort the Jolly Ol’ Elf into Badu Park, where kids can greet him and wait their turns to share their Christmas lists with him.

But if kids can’t make the first day, officials said they still have time because Santa will make appearances 6-8 p.m. every Friday and Saturday during Starry, Starry Nights.

The lighted Christmas park opens at 6 p.m. each day through Dec. 31.
