KILLEEN —  The Marble Falls High School girls basketball team fell 45-28 to Killeen on Nov. 19 for its first loss of the season.

The Lady Mustangs (3-1) took a 6-5 lead after the first period, but the Lady Roos (4-4) seized control of the contest in the second. Killeen led 18-8 at the half and continued to outscore Marble Falls the rest of the game.

“Our defensive effort wasn’t great. We shot 28 percent from the field, and we had 31 turnovers,” Marble Falls head coach Chris Jost said. “Killeen basically played our same defense but were more physical than we were, and we didn’t make enough plays in the second half to make a run at them.”

He said the team spent some time making tactical adjustments during the following practice Nov. 20, and he was pleased with how the players’ responded to the fixes.

The Lady Mustangs are hosting the American Bank of Texas Tournament on Nov. 21-23.
