A celebration of life service for Lawrence H. “Larry” Meyers, 94, of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, is 11:30 a.m. Nov. 7 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Marble Falls with the Rev. Danielle Casey officiating. A graveside committal service is 10 a.m. at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park on Park Road 4 in Burnet.

He went to be with his Lord on Nov. 4, 2013.

Larry was born June 3, 1919, in St. Louis, Mo., to Henry and Freida Kehl Meyers. He graduated from Webster Grove High School in 1937.

He proudly served his country during World War II in the Navy on the USS Towner as an officer.

He married the love of his life, Frances Goller, on Jan. 24, 1942. After the war, they settled in Houston, where Larry enjoyed a long industrial career with Briggs Weaver.

In 1986, he and Frances retired to their beloved home on Lake LBJ.

Larry was an avid tennis player and golfer. During his retirement years, he was an active member of his community, serving on the Municipality Utility District board of Llano County.

Larry was preceded in death by Francis, his beloved wife of 61 years, in December 2003.

He is survived by his son, Larry Meyers and wife Julie; daughter, Sally Filler and husband Trent; and grandchildren, Elizabeth and husband Mike and David. He also is survived by sister, Jean Boettger and husband Bob; and numerous nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank all of Larry’s community and church friends, his caretaker Susan Johnson, the Granite Mesa Nursing care staff and the Hill Country Hospice care team for all their encouragement, attention, support and care during our dad’s final journey in his life.

Donations may be made to the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church music program at 1803 FM 1431 Marble Falls, TX 78654; or the American Cancer Society.
