Roctober! brings live music to Johnson Park to raise money for Open Door Recovery

MARBLE FALLS — As November approaches, it’s time to get out and Roctober!
The live music event benefitting Open Door Recovery is 2-7 p.m. Oct. 27 at Johnson Park, 230 Ave. J South.
Organizers lined up a list of bands that will fit just about everyone’s musical tastes, including blues, bluegrass, gospel, praise, worship and Christian rock.
The Barefoot Troubadours and Gloryland Praise Band start things off 2-3 p.m. with Danny and Debbi Brooks performing 3:15-4:15 p.m.
The Bluebonnet Pickers take the stage from 4:30-5:30 p.m. with Crossover wrapping things up 5:45-6:45 p.m.
Open Door Recovery House is a faith-based, residential alcohol and drug recovery house for women. The facility is located in Marble Falls. Since opening three years ago, Open Door Recovery has helped 80 women regain control over their lives.
Recently, the organization celebrated its new home. The Steve Reitz Co. donated much of the renovation work, and numerous volunteers also helped.
But the facility still could use things to assists the women. Items Open Door Recovery needs include toilet paper, coffee, laundry soap, gasoline gift cards, Burke’s Outlet gift cards, Life Recovery Bibles (NLT version), Alcoholics Anonymous big books as well as kitchen and bath towels.
