Marshall James Henderson, 89, of Tow, Texas, passed away Oct. 8, 2013. He was born to Oscar and Betty (Stockton) Henderson on Jan. 26, 1924, in Buda, Texas.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a self-employed welder by trade.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Louise (Archer) Henderson, whom he married Dec. 23, 1944, in Los Angeles, and his parents.

Marshall was a good man, and his family takes comfort in knowing he has joined his loving wife, Billie, in Heaven.

He is survived by his sister, Laura Lee Henderson Grant of Hitchcock; sons, Derral Henderson and wife Linda of Hobbs, N.M., and Danny Henderson and wife Phyllis of Tow; and grandsons, Jay Henderson and wife Deidre of Tow and Glen Henderson and Lawana Blair of Cottonwood Shores. He also is survived by four great-grandchildren, Abby, Camrie, Marshall and Coye, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service is 1 p.m. Oct. 11 at Tow Cemetery with the Rev. Jerald Moore officiating and military honors by the Highland Lakes Honor Guard.
