Marble Falls’ varsity cross country teams place third at meet

FREDERICKSBURG — The Marble Falls High School cross country teams finished in the top five of the Lady Bird Invitational on Sept. 28.
The boys and girls varsity and girls junior varsity each placed third in their divisions, while the junior varsity boys came in fifth.
Head coach Anthony Torns announced that Jackie Salazar is the team’s outstanding runner of the week. She won the junior varsity girls division and ran a new personal best in the two miles.
“Her accomplishment is special because Jackie has only practiced two weeks after being out July and August with health issues,” he said.

Burnet teams compete at Lady Bird Invitational
FREDERICKSBURG — The Burnet High School cross country teams competed at the Lady Bird Invitational on Sept. 28.
The boys varsity squad placed sixth out of 12 teams, while the girls varsity team was seventh out of 13 teams.
“The teams continue to work hard and come off the most difficult training month of their season,” head coach Stuart Dixon said. “They now enter the last month of the season, aiming toward the district meet.”
