OBITUARY: Nellie Herridge Collings, 95, dies Sept. 23, 2013
Nellie Collings, 95, passed away Sept. 23, 2013, in Bryan.
Final arrangements are being handled by Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone St. in Llano, (325) 247-4300. A graveside service is 1 p.m. Sept. 26 at Llano City Cemetery.
Nellie was born Dec. 15, 1917, in Lone Grove, Texas, to John Roland and Minnie Gray Herridge. She married Paul Collings in 1940, and, after his military service, they made their home in Llano. In 1984, they moved to Aransas Pass, where Mrs. Collings lived for nearly 30 years before moving to Bryan-College Station in 2013.
Her hobbies included reading, working puzzles, playing bingo, quilting, gardening and volunteering at the Christian Service Center, the hospital in Aransas Pass and The Blessing Shop.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Survivors include her daughter, Pam Elkins and and fiancé Walt Kluchki of Round Rock, and granddaughter Denise Camp and husband Robert of College Station.
