Marble Falls volleyball squad loses to Leander Rouse

LEANDER — The Marble Falls High School volleyball team lost to Leander Rouse 18-25, 20-25, 16-25 on Sept. 17 in District 25-4A action.

In the third game, the Lady Mustangs had a 6-0 lead but suffered two hitting errors and didn’t return a serve to allow the Lady Raiders to trim the deficit in half. Marble Falls suffered a four-rotation missed-serve streak.

“(It) allowed the Raiders to take a healthy lead,” Marble Falls head coach Julie Downs said.

SUBVARSITY RESULTS: Marble Falls freshmen lose 17-25, 13-25; Marble Falls junior varsity lose 12-25, 22-25.

QUOTABLE: “All the teams played tough, winning points off digs from the Raiders hard-hitting offense and rallying against a tough serve, but in the end, all Mustang teams were defeated,” Downs said.

RECORDS: Marble Falls varsity is 10-15-1 overall and 0-2 in District 25-4A play; Leander Rouse is 1-1 in district play.
