OBITUARY: Janet Lea Cates, 55, of Kingsland dies Sept. 8, 2013
Janet Lea Cates, 55, of Kingsland passed away Sept. 8, 2013. She was born May 14, 1958, to James and Sue (Blackmon) Kays in Hallettsville, Texas.
Janet lived in Kingsland and was a cherished member of a large family with many loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Erin (Matthew) Olson of Albertson, N.C.; son, Christopher Baker of Houston; grandchildren, Darby Olson and Brandon and Olivia Baker; mother, Beverly Sue Kays of Kingsland; and two sisters, Pam (Karl) Tibbets of La Porte and Debra (Randy) Burton of Kerrville.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Allen Keyes, and granddaughter Olive Rose Olson.
A celebration of life service is 2 p.m. Sept. 12 at First Baptist Church in Kingsland with the Rev. Bubba Stahl officiating. Private inurnment will follow at a later date.
