Marble Falls freshmen football squad beats La Grange 14-6

LA GRANGE — The Marble Falls High School freshman football team defeated La Grange 14-6 in the season opener Aug. 29.

The Mustangs got on the board in the third quarter. Quarterback Brandon Duggins found Sam Harkins on a 51-yard pass and run. Kicker Gavino Tinajera added the extra point.

Cade Cool ran in the last touchdown from 35 yards out with three minutes to go in the game. Tinajera connected on the extra point.

Defensive standouts included nose guard Jemal Alexander, linebacker Preston Richardson and cornerback Zach Stevenson.

Marble Falls welcomes Smithville at 5 p.m. Sept. 5 at Mustang Stadium, 2101 Mustang Drive in Marble Falls, for its home opener.
