Burnet performs well in own cross-country meet

BURNET — The Burnet High School cross-country team conducted their annual Relay Invitational on Aug. 24 at Reveille Peak Ranch.
Cross-country squads divided their runners into three-person teams to compete in the relay. Each athlete ran 1.5 miles.
The Burnet girls varsity team A placed third while team B finished sixth out of eight squads against members of Classes 4A and 5A.
The Burnet boys varsity team A placed fourth and team B was seventh out of nine squads against members of Classes 4A and 5A.
RESULTS: Varsity boys — Burnet Team A: Nick Menchaca, 9:38, Cole Lastly, 10:03, Drew Kiser, 9:00; Burnet Team B: Gage Blair, 10:09, Jordin Belamarez, 10:49, Trevor Turner, 9:50. Junior varsity – Jacob Brown, 12:02. Varsity girls — Burnet Team A: Shaylah Hullum, 10:46, Jordan Boyles, 11:10, Abby Bullock, 10:41; Burnet Team B: Tara Evers, 11:28, Hailey Letterman, 12:07, Autumn Feasier, 11:50. Junior varsity – Burnet: Leslie Garrett, 12:38, Caden Farrell, 14:30, Jordan Killabrew, 13:02.
