Llano Junior High football players may pick up equipment Aug. 23; first game Sept. 12

LLANO — Llano Junior High School football players may pick up equipment Aug. 23 at the dressing rooms behind Llano Stadium.
The stadium is located on the junior high campus, 400 Texas 71 East.
Eighth-graders should be there at 1 p.m., while seventh-graders are welcome 2:30-4 p.m. Athletes who can’t be there Aug. 23 will get their equipment on the first day of school Aug. 26.
In addition, players should bring their completed forms with them to give to coaches. Seventh-graders who have not gotten a physical must do so before being allowed to participate.
Athletic packet are available at the junior high front office, and some forms can be printed from www.uiltexas.org/athletics, the University Interscholastic League’s website.
Eighth-graders might not need a new physical, coaches said, but the medical history and the rest of the packet must be completed every year.
Players without a physical, medical history, acknowledgement of rules and other required papers on file will not be allowed to participate.
Seventh-graders will have their first practices Aug. 26 before and after school. An activity bus will be available to drop off students at Packsaddle Elementary, 150 Pioneer Lane in Kingsland, every evening an after-school practice is conducted. Seventh-grade practice finishes at 5 p.m.
Eighth-graders will only practice during the athletic period on the first day of school and will begin practicing before school at 7 a.m. Aug. 27.
The Daubers kick off the season against Bandera on Sept. 12.
