OBITUARY: Eloy Villarreal, 84, of Llano dies July 22, 2013
Eloy Villarreal of Llano passed away July 22, 2013, at the age of 84. He was born Dec. 2, 1928, to Antonio and Alvina (Cardona) Villarreal in Jimenez, Coahuila, Mexico.
He married Fracisca Acevedo on July 14, 1951, in Purisima, Coahuila, Mexico.
Eloy loved ranching, working with horses, roping, working with leather and building bird houses.
He is survived by his wife, Francisca Villarreal of Llano; five daughters, Bertha Montoya and husband Macario, Grace Montez and husband Robert, Frances Napolez and husband Ricky, all of Llano, Maria Escobar and husband Jose of Granite Shoals and Consuelo Montelongo and husband Jose of Kingsland; four sons, Reyes Villarreal and wife Irasema, Marcos Villarreal and wife Sylvia of Granite Shoals, Eloy Villarreal Jr. and wife Noami of Mason and Hector Villarreal and wife Yesenia of Brenham; daughter-in-law, Rosa Villarreal of Spearman; four brothers, Fernando Villarreal and Sotero Villarreal, both of Purisima, and Antonio Villarreal and Alejandro Villarreal, both of Del Rio; three sisters, Blasa Soto, Antonia Ortiz and Francisca Cardenas, all of Purisima; 34 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Eloy was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Alvina (Cardona) Villarreal; son, Julian Villarreal; sister, Enriqueta Villarreal; and brother, Ignacio Villarreal.
Visitation with the family is 6-8 p.m. July 25 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300. A funeral service is 10 a.m. July 26 at the funeral home with the Rev. Benito Aguirre officiating. Burial will follow at Llano City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Eloy Montelongo, Marcos Villarreal Jr., Reyes Villarreal Jr., Fernando Villarreal, Eloy Villarreal III, Jose A. Ezcobar, Macario Montoya, Ismael Montoya, Julian Villarreal and Baldemar Villarreal.
