OBITUARY: Ethel Olene Garrett Singleton, 80, dies June 10, 2013

Ethel Olene Garrett Singleton was born Jan. 16, 1933, in Rock Springs, Texas, to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Grover Garrett. She passed from this life and on to glory June 10, 2013. She was 80 years old.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Phillips Singleton; and brother, Joel Ervin “Erby” Garrett.
“Etholene,” as many called her, moved with her family to Travis Peak, Texas, in 1938 when she was 5. She lived and flourished in that close-knit community. She attended Travis Peak School No. 2 until her senior year, when she attended and graduated from Marble Falls High School in 1951. As a young adult, she lived and worked in Marble Falls and Austin and then married Phillips Singleton in 1957. They had three children: Charlie, Donna and Laura.
Ethel and Phillips ranched all of their years together. She was a longtime member of Travis Peak Church of Christ, where she was a Bible school teacher.
Mrs. Singleton is survived by her three children, 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, including son, Mr. Charlie Singleton and his sons, Cody, Cale and Cullen, of Lampasas; daughter, Mrs. Donna Smiley and husband Cameron of Liberty Hill and their children, Rachel Simmons and husband Sam and their daughter Evie of Plano, Savannah Sterrett and husband Brandon of Dallas and Janie, Phillip and Jacob Smiley of Liberty Hill; and daughter Laura Franques and husband Allen of Travis Peak and their children, Brent Fraques and wife LaNae of Canyon and Josh Franques of Travis Peak. She was well loved by many close family members and friends, and she loved them as well.

Memorials may be made at Hensel Christian Camp and World Bible School.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. June 14 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373. A funeral service is 3 p.m. June 16 at Travis Peak Church of Christ with Glen Mullen officiating.
